Welcome to my blog!
Adventur-ish is all about my travels and work in the USA, Colombia, and wherever life takes me next. The title comes from the way I feel about life and travel: some days I can’t wait to explore the world, and other days all I want is to be back in Pennsylvania snuggled up with my cocker spaniel.

I originally moved to Colombia in June 2015 as a volunteer with WorldTeach. They gave me training on how to teach English in a Colombian classroom, and within 6 weeks of college graduation I was doing just that. I taught high school level English in two different public schools in Cartagena de Indias. During my breaks from school I took trips all over Colombia, you’ll find posts about my trips in the Colombia Travels section.
After my year of teaching I went back home to Pennsylvania to earn a little money and try to find a job in journalism. Six months of waiting tables and several dozen rejection letters later, I decided to head back to Colombia. This time to a city I had visited twice and had fallen in love with at first sight- Medellín.
Four months in Medellín gave me wonderful new friends and experiences. I headed back to the USA in mid-May 2017, and in June I moved from my dad’s house in New Hope, PA to Middlebury, VT. I’m living and collaborating with my cousins Jen and Lauren, and my Aunt Sue and Uncle Scott. What a blessing to experience a New England summer.
