Finally, after almost 8 months in Colombia, I made it to a soccer game (or should I say fútbol?) I tagged along with my neighbor Jaime who is part of the Cartagena cheering section for the team in Barranquilla called Junior. Their colors are red and white stripes:

The stadium was hot and full of noise and absolutely crazy fans. They’re called hooligans for a reason. Non-stop jumping and singing and screaming. I tried to join in for a little while but eventually I found that I preferred to sit with some of the other girls and eat popsicles in the shade. The game was exciting, Junior won 1-0 to another costeño team from Montería.
